The Jacksonville Jaguars have a complicated relationship with the word "home." Sunday morning, their home game against Houston is at Wembley Stadium in London. Last week's home game was in London too, a 19-17 win over the Eagles at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Next year gets even more interesting. EverBank Stadium is in the middle of a $1.4 billion renovation, so in 2027 the Jaguars will play their home games at Orlando's Camping World Stadium, with the option of up to three international games. Don't count on three, though. "The likelihood of three games in 2027, I think it's remote," team president Mark Lamping said Saturday, per ESPN.
The renovated stadium, which the team calls the Stadium of the Future, is scheduled to be ready for the 2028 season. While the team was in London, crews back home installed the north trusses for the new canopy, which weigh 1 million pounds and took 72 hours to put up, the Jaguars said. That's a lot of pounds, in both currencies.
What's next: The Jaguars (4-1) host the Texans (1-4) at Wembley on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. ET on NFL Network. Breakfast football, British style.
