Back in June, PWHL San Jose made goalie Corinne Schroeder the first player in franchise history. "History starts in net," the team posted. Now that history has a worrying first chapter.

Schroeder was hurt during an off-ice warmup before a scrimmage at Team Canada's camp in Quebec City on Oct. 14, Canada coach Kori Cheverie confirmed, per The Hockey News. Reporter Pat Laprade saw her leave the arena in a wheelchair with a walking boot on her right foot. Neither Hockey Canada nor San Jose has said how serious it is. Health first.

Why it matters: San Jose is one of only three teams that invited just three goalies to camp, and every PWHL team must carry three signed goalies at all times, The Hockey News' Ian Kennedy wrote. If Schroeder misses time, the spotlight could land on Tia Chan, the reigning NCAA Goaltender of the Year out of UConn, who signed a three-year deal in September. Veteran Abbey Levy is also on the roster.

What's next: Training camps open Nov. 18, and the league's first 12-team season starts Dec. 5.
