Back in 2015, the Milwaukee Brewers made a bold offer: pay $1,000 for a one-pound brass ticket engraved with your name, and use it for any future home game you want. No expiration date. This season, the year 2050 or Game 7 of the World Series, the team said.

Only 1,000 were made. Eleven years later, the Brewers are in the World Series for the first time since 1982, and the fans who held on are lining up.

Nate Holzman, an Oak Creek native now in Los Angeles, thinks he bought his on day one. "If they can redeem this ticket for me and get me to the game as I've pictured in my mind for the last 12 years, it would be the best thing ever," he said, per Hearst station WBAL.

The team told Hearst station WISN it is honoring redemptions and has "been working diligently on all inquiries in the order they are received." Seats depend on availability, and holders will learn their game and seat next week.

What's next: Game 1 is Friday in Milwaukee. The opponent gets clearer tonight, when the Rays and Guardians, tied 2-2, play ALCS Game 5 at 5 p.m. ET.
