Vegas loves a good omen, and the Golden Knights just got one.

Saturday's 6-2 win over Pittsburgh made Vegas 8-2 for the third time in franchise history, per the AP. The other two times, in 2018 and 2023, the season ended with a trip to the Stanley Cup Final. No pressure.

This one was over early. Defencemen Rasmus Andersson and Noah Hanifin scored in the first 4:02, both set up by cross-ice passes from Jack Eichel, who was playing his 700th NHL game. Mark Stone added a goal and two assists, and goalie Adin Hill improved to 4-0.

For Pittsburgh, it's been a rough road trip: three losses, outscored 16-7. The bright spot was a familiar one. Sidney Crosby scored the 657th goal of his career, breaking a tie with Brendan Shanahan for 14th in NHL history. Some things never get old.

What's next: The Penguins visit Utah on Monday at 9 p.m. ET. Vegas hosts Tampa Bay on Tuesday at 10:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
