You don't need a fantasy team to enjoy an NFL Sunday. You need snacks, a couch and a reason to care. We've got the reasons.
Here are the Week 6 games with the best storylines, in the order they kick off. All times Mountain.
7:30 a.m.: Texans vs. Jaguars (in London)
Yes, that's breakfast football. Jacksonville (4-1) is basically London's adopted team: this is the Jaguars' 15th game there since 2013, per ESPN, and their British superfans renamed a pub "Tealwood" for the occasion. Last week in London, they beat the Eagles 19-17 on a 57-yard field goal at the buzzer. Houston arrives at 1-4. Watch on NFL Network, ideally with tea.
11 a.m.: Jets at Patriots
New England (3-2) gets star receiver A.J. Brown back after he missed four games with a high ankle sprain, the team announced Saturday. QB Drake Maye compared having Brown to having an NBA superstar: when defences double him, "they're just leaving a corner 3 open or leaving a guy open for a dunk," Maye said, per ESPN. Brown, who was limited in practice all week, said he's thinking about the "long haul, not just for temporarily," so don't expect a full workload right away. The Jets are 2-3. (CBS)
11 a.m.: Panthers at Eagles
This is the "next man up" game. Philadelphia (2-3) is without QB Jalen Hurts, who's dealing with a blood clot in his calf, so Tanner McKee starts. Running back Saquon Barkley is also out with a hamstring injury, so Dameon Pierce should get most of the carries. Health first for everyone. Good news: receiver DeVonta Smith looks set to return. Carolina is 2-2. (CBS)
2:25 p.m.: Chargers at Chiefs
The ultimate mismatch on paper: Kansas City is 4-0, while the Chargers are 0-5. But the Chiefs are missing their top two receivers, with Rashee Rice out (hamstring) and Tyquan Thornton on injured reserve. That means more chances for young guys like rookie Cyrus Allen. "They're ready," Patrick Mahomes said. "They've put in the work." Upset alert? Probably not. But winless teams are always one weird afternoon away. (CBS)
6:20 p.m.: Cowboys at Packers
The Sunday night game is a breakup story. About 14 months ago, Dallas traded star pass rusher Micah Parsons to Green Bay. He hurt his knee last December, had ACL surgery and still hasn't been cleared, so he won't play Sunday, ESPN reported. The last time these teams met, it ended in a 40-40 tie, which is about as rare as a quiet family Thanksgiving.
Dak Prescott is keeping it friendly. "It's not me versus Micah, or the Cowboys versus Micah," the Dallas QB said, per ESPN. Green Bay is 3-2; Dallas is 2-3 and has the league's 31st-ranked defence by yards allowed. (NBC)
Monday bonus: Commanders at 49ers
San Francisco is a perfect 5-0, but it's still without pass rusher Nick Bosa (calf). Washington is 1-3-1. Kickoff is 6:15 p.m. MT on ESPN and ABC.
Pick one, pick five or just put the TV on in the background and wait for someone to yell. That's the NFL experience.
