Milwaukee swept its way into its first World Series in 44 years and now has seven full days to wait, and history can't decide whether that's a gift.

After the Brewers finished off the Dodgers on Thursday, an MLB official told manager Pat Murphy, "We'll see you in Milwaukee at the World Series." Murphy's reply, per MLB.com: "When's that start?"

Answer: Friday, Oct. 23. That gives Milwaukee seven full days off, the second-longest wait for any pennant winner since 1985, MLB.com's Paul Casella and Brian Murphy found. Only the 2007 Rockies waited longer, eight days, and they got swept.

So is the break good or bad? Basically a coin flip. Teams that entered the World Series after at least five full days off have gone 10-10 since 1985. But the last three teams to sweep their League Championship Series, including last year's Dodgers, all won the title.

Meanwhile, the Brewers get to watch. The ALCS between Tampa Bay and Cleveland is tied 2-2. Fun bonus: a Cleveland-Milwaukee World Series would come with a built-in movie reference, since Major League was filmed in Milwaukee.

What's next: ALCS Game 5 is Sunday at 5 p.m. ET on TBS. World Series Game 1 is Friday at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
