A tip for goalies everywhere: whatever happens, hang on to your stick.

Blues goalie Jordan Binnington was ruled to have thrown his stick during play on Saturday night in Nashville, so the Predators, already on a power play, were awarded a penalty shot. That's a free one-on-one breakaway against the goalie. Jonathan Marchessault skated in and scored to tie it 1-1 in the first period, per the AP. He's now 3 for 5 on penalty shots in his regular-season career.

Then came the goal Nashville had been waiting for. Filip Forsberg, the franchise's all-time leading goal scorer and a three-time 40-goal man, scored on a wraparound for his first goal of the season. The team's account summed it up: "SCORESBERG IS SO BACK."

Adam Edstrom added a short-handed goal, Ryan O'Reilly and Jack Drury scored in the third (Drury's first as a Predator) and Juuse Saros made 24 saves. The 5-2 win snapped a three-game losing streak.

What's next: The Predators visit Boston on Thursday. The Blues host Winnipeg on Tuesday, sticks firmly in hand.
